How does the Live Deal Coach work?
Tap "Start Live Deal Coach" and grant microphone and speech recognition permissions. DealShield listens to your conversation at the dealership, transcribes it in real time, and alerts you when it detects common dealer tactics like payment packing or urgency pressure. Each alert includes a suggested response you can use. You can also use Practice Mode to paste dealer text without using the microphone.
What features are free vs. Pro?
Free includes the Deal Analyzer with score, OTD Calculator, Before I Sign checklist, and Negotiation Coach scenario browser. Pro ($2.99/week or $29.99/year) unlocks Live AI Coach, Contract Scanner, Compare Deals, unlimited saved deals, and Export & Share.
Does DealShield store my contract photos or voice recordings?
No. Contract photos are processed on-device using OCR and only the extracted text is sent to our AI for analysis. Voice audio is transcribed on-device and only the text transcript is sent. Neither images nor audio recordings are stored on our servers.
Can I use DealShield offline?
Yes, partially. The OTD Calculator, Add-Ons Detector, Before I Sign Checklist, and Scenario Browser all work without an internet connection. AI-powered features (Deal Score, Live Coach, Contract Scanner) require a connection.
How do I restore my purchases?
Open DealShield, go to the paywall screen, and tap "Restore Purchases." This will sync your subscription status with the App Store. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase.
